Until famous 2004 tsunami, phenomenon has rarely been regarded as an essential issue facing communities, following incident resulted in over 400 thousand human casualties and left 750000 homeless people after completely demolishing their homes. The world's consciousness changed regarding real threat tsunami imposes on existence around world. UNESCO's initiated a program, Northeast Atlantic Mediterranean Warning System NEAMTWS, to raise all required mitigation measures ensure residents know kind degree threats they are exposed how deal with them. project identified Egypt's coast area high vulnerability when hazards. Although was set achieve its objective by 2011, none objectives have achieved.
